Stray Kids once again topped the Billboard 200 chart, cementing their status as one of the most successful K-pop acts in US history. Their latest EP, 5-starIt marks their third No. 1 album in the US in a relatively short period of time.
5-star debuted at the top of the Billboard 200, after moving 249,500 equivalent units in its first week, driven primarily by pure album purchases. Fans showed their unwavering support for the group by purchasing 235,000 copies of the EP within the first seven days of its availability. Additionally, the title received an impressive 19.55 million streams, which translates to 14,000 streaming equivalent units.

Last spring, Stray Kids joined an elite group of South Korean acts to achieve a No. 1 album on the Billboard 200. In March 2022, their EP Strange ranked number one, followed by Maxident Later in the year.
5-star Taylor Swift is fired midnights on the Billboard 200 at No. 1 as an album. Swift’s album regained the top spot the previous week, with the release of several new special deluxe editions of the collection featuring new music and remastered versions of popular hits.
With the latest hit, Stray Kids became the sixth act to have a No. 1 album on the Billboard 200. Although it may seem relatively low for how late this year is, this ranking is dominated by a few recently selected titles. Along with SZA, Tomorrow X Together, Carole G, Morgan Wallen and Taylor Swift, the South Korean group claims to be the top chart-topper of 2023, and if this year is the last, they may already be planning their next blockbuster offering.
