Speed ​​up the second phase of rice aid distribution: from Papanas to Pulak

JAKARTA (ANTARA) – The National Food Agency (PABANAS) has asked the State Logistics Agency (BULOK) to expedite the second phase of rice aid distribution, which was released in early May 2023.

In a statement issued on Saturday, Papanas Andrico Noto Susanto, Deputy III for Consumption Diversification and Food Security, said his party has urged Bulak to focus on maintaining government rice reserves (CBP).

He noted that CBP’s distribution has benefited the community to help maintain stability of food supply and prices during the 2023 Eid al-Fitr celebration observed on April 22.

Statistics Indonesia (BPS) reported an inflation rate of 4.33 percent year-on-year (yoy) in April 2023, a decline compared to the 4.97 percent yoy rate in March.

A Papanas official said the CBP stockpile of 10,214 tonnes at Pulok warehouse in Watts sub-district, Kulonbroko district, Yogyakarta province is sufficient.

The first phase of aid distribution reached 100 percent by April 2023. Meanwhile, realization of Phase II reached 6 percent.
