TOKYO–(ANTARA/Business Wire)– On Thursday, 14 March 2024, the Secretary General of the Asian Productivity Organization (APO), Dr. Indira Pradhana Sinhavinada hosted a socializing dinner for APO member ambassadors in Tokyo. Attended by ambassadors and representatives of 14 APO members, the APO Vision 2025: Pause and Reflex Action Steering Committee Meeting brought together representatives from seven APO members in Tokyo to review progress on the APO Vision. Discuss the future vision for 2025 and beyond 2025.
General Secretary Dr. Indira's opening speech underscored the importance of the dinner as a reflection of APO's commitment to broaden its reach and invite more stakeholders to join the productivity movement. The remarks of Sheng-Hsiung Hsu, APO Chairman of the ROC, elected by the 65th session of the Governing Council, highlight the organization's unique ability to bring people together through productivity.
Yoshiaki Makino, Deputy Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan (MOFA) as the host country representative of the APO Secretariat, Hideo Ishizuki, APO Director for Japan, gave the opening toast on behalf of the Director General/Assistant Minister for International Cooperation. The Bureau appreciates the networking and reaffirmation of personal relationships among APO members, while recognizing MOFA's ongoing initiatives of pause and reflection activity and third-party evaluation.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by S. Gopalakrishnan, IAS, APO Acting Director for India, Secretary General Dr. Indira on behalf of the Ambassadors present and all the participants. He emphasized the untapped benefits of the APO platform and encouraged everyone to use APO's international network of national production organizations to support government initiatives and the dinner's theme of collaboration and shared goals.
