Viral singer Kate Janis has died after dedicating her last song to her son. The 31-year-old battled sarcoma cancer.
His family posted the news of his death on Instagram. „This morning, from her childhood home and surrounded by her loving family, Catherine entered peacefully into the light and love of her heavenly Creator,” the post said.
It added, “We are forever grateful for the outpouring of love Catherine and our family have received over the past few months. Cat found her music went places she never expected, and rests in peace knowing she will continue to provide for her son through her music. This would not have been possible without all of you.
'I don't have much'
Janice teased a song on TikTok last month where she said she „won cancer” after a tough battle. He asked his fans to pre-order his final song and all proceeds from it will go to his son, 7.
„I'm crawling to my radiation so I can buy some time so I can see this song released,” he wrote in another Tiktok update a few days before the release. „I transferred all the rights to my songs to my son so I could leave him something. I don't have much.” “I transferred all rights to my songs to my son so I could leave him something. I don't have much.”
Dance You Outta My Head, Janice's song, debuted at No. 1 on the TikTok Billboard Top 50 after its release on January 19. It later reached the top 10 on Billboard's Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart. The song has been streamed 12.8 million times worldwide on Spotify.
Last month, the singer told TODAY.com in an interview that the song is about „feeling yourself, you're at the top of your mind.” He added that he was overwhelmed by the support. „I didn't expect to be here,” he said. „I believe it is a miracle to witness this. I am very happy to be here.
