Venus Williams was idolized by a die-hard fan during the Austin City Limits music festival.
The 43-year-old tennis legend, who holds seven Grand Slam titles, attended a music event at Zilker Park in Austin, Texas earlier this month, and his attendance has gone viral for a hilarious reason.
A clip of a woman silencing her friends in an attempt to get them to respect a court elder in front of her is going viral on social media.
A TikTok user, queenku_, captured the moment the girl realized Williams was standing behind her.
In the video, someone tries to talk to the woman, causing Williams to violently shut them down in front of her.
She shouted with glee: 'Shut up! She is the king of American treasure! She is an American treasure! What’s wrong with you?’
Williams, whose markup was being touched up by an assistant in the background, couldn’t help but laugh as the woman lost her composure as she continued to call him an 'American treasure’.
Williams’ guest, former tennis player Prakash Amirtaraj, also laughed, while the woman’s friends laughed.
The TikTok user captioned the post: 'Such a perfect reaction to randomly seeing Queen Venus Williams! She told me that Venus has paved the way for many women and she was honestly shocked!! Tiktok do your thing and find her!!!’
Users in the comments agreed, with one writing: 'Venus Williams is the only way to act like a woman’.
RN Venus Williams is right in front of us so I feel her why are you talking,’ another posted.
Even the NFL team, the Philadelphia Eagles, said, 'Tell them.’
Williams has enjoyed some time off the court since her 24th appearance at the US Open, which ended with a first-round loss to Belgian Creed Minnen.
The former world No. 1 will miss the Australian Open, the first Grand Slam of 2024, targeting the March return instead.
„I tried my best to get back to the US Open. I haven’t reached my form so now I’m resting until I come back,’ said Williams Tennis.com.
’I’m aiming for March and that’s when the competitions go back to the States, so my goal is to be excited when the competitions come back to the US.’
