Reborn’ gets a release date and an incredible trailer

The highlight of Disney’s D23 showcase was the premiere of the first Daredevil: Born Again trailer, the revival of the legendary Netflix series that was canceled due to a contract expiration and the rise of Disney Plus, which wanted to pick it all up again. Its Marvel Infinity Stones. We now know that Daredevil: Born Again’s release date (well, release window) is March 2025.

New trailer, I’m not going to embed it here because it’s pretty piracy and Disney doesn’t want to release it officially for some reasonThe vibes of the first three seasons, especially season 3, are so good that we’re going back to those bloody days, it seems. After an odd idea Daredevil returned in a very different form, cutting almost all of the old cast and turning it into a courtroom drama. That whole concept was scrapped, and new showrunners and all the old cast members were brought in for Born Again.

The trailer reveals the return of Jon Bernthal’s Frank Castle as the Punisher will take on the role this season. There’s also an imprisoned Bullseye, played by Wilson Bethel, who returns after his excellent turn in Season 3. Nay Tiger and Muse are seen briefly.

I saw relatively little of Karen and Foggy in this trailer. Both characters were supposedly killed off-screen in the first draft, but that’s not the case here as they return in some capacity.

All this led to the reunion of the main cast Vincent D’Onofrio, Deborah Ann Woll, Charlie Cox, Elton Henson and Jon Bernthal on stage, which was wonderful to see after all these years. Daredevil remains a fan-favorite MCU series, even though it’s largely separated from the larger MCU storylines, and it seemed pretty dead after being largely removed from Netflix. With enough fan demand, Disney brought it back, and enough pressure, presumably even from the cast, that this „true to the original” version was created.

It’s an open question whether Netflix is going to completely revamp the old „Defenders” team with Daredevil cameos or just bring back old shows. We don’t know what the fate of Luke Cage, Iron Fist or Jessica Jones will be, although Krysten Ritter has hinted at Jones’ return on social media.

We also know that Marvel is apparently focusing on „street level” content on Disney Plus, which already includes Echo, who has co-starred with Daredevil’s Kingpin. It would seem odd to stop it at two shows, at least in this series want That would be cheaper than a crazy D+ production like $200+ million Secret Invasion. But spending on all of Disney’s content hasn’t made much sense in recent years.

Daredevil: Born Again looks incredible, and Disney should release an official version of this trailer soon.
