The Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur) Peru said on Sunday it will assume the presidency of Pro-Pacific Alliance (AP) Tempor on August 1 this year, noting that an increase in trade, tourism and investment is expected.

According to the government organization, during these months the work agenda was pursued bilaterally, in which Peru could not accept the interim presidency, that is, Measures to promote investment, tourism and exports Taken together with Chile, Colombia and Mexico.

However, it explained that it is not just about two-way trade with these countries, but also about the global value chain with third countries.

The Ministry has mentioned that such opportunities have been slightly wasted during the above period, but it is being rectified.

According to Minister Juan Carlos MathewsAsia – especially China – is an important partner for Peru, and the restoration of this position within the Pacific Alliance makes it possible to exploit this kind of opportunity for the Asian market.

Furthermore, the President of Mincetour underlined that Peru has a strength that Latin American countries lack: a well-distributed and diversified business system.

Mathews underlined that this makes it possible to work with many markets simultaneously, which is why Peru is one of the countries with the best performance in terms of export progress in the region and around the world.
