NCT 127 Mix Futurism And Tradition In 'Reality Check’ Video

NCT 127 is back with their fifth album 'Fact Check’ and a futuristic video for the record’s title track.

The new release follows the nine-member boyband’s 2022 album '전주 (2 Baddies)’ and its 2023 re-release 'Ai-Yo’.

On the single 'Fact Check’, NCT 127 delivers an energetic, Afrobeats-based track that finds them in a highly confident manner, even in the face of reality check against timeless pieces of art. „Hang me in the Louvre / Next to Lisa, touch,” at one point Johnny Rapp, before declaring in the group chorus:Check the facts, check it / Check the statistics, check it.

In the accompanying video, the boyband hops around landmarks across Seoul, from Gyeongbokgung Palace to Incheon Bridge, and more futuristic scenery.

The rest of the album features lyrics from Taeil, Taeyong and Mark on 'Love Is A Beauty’. Mark and Taeyong also co-wrote the rock track 'Angel Eyes’ and the ballad 'Misty’.

’Fact Check’ follows NCT 127 and reflects on their success and story so far in the latest Disney+ and Hulu documentary, NCT 127: The Lost Boys. In the four-part series, the SM Entertainment boyband revealed their feelings about their childhood and their international growth through never-before-seen interviews and exclusive footage.

In a four-star review of the documentary, NME wrote: „Lost BoysThe refusal to tread the path usually followed by documentarians is to be commended, but at times – especially in the first episode – it stutters. […] In the end, when all four parts are put together, it feels like a smooth victory.

„As documentaries go, it succeeds in making you feel like you’ve been given a deep insight into its subject, and gives a human connection to a group that feels larger than life.”
