Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappe was named Ligue 1 player of the season for the fourth time in a row on Sunday.
He is the only player to win the award four times, breaking the record shared by France forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

„I want to thank the players, the staff, everyone who works in the shadows,” said the 24-year-old Mbappe.
„I always wanted to leave a mark. I didn’t expect to win so soon, but I’m happy to make history in my country.”
Mbappe has signed a contract with PSG until 2024 and has an option to extend it by a further year.
„I’m happy and I’ll be here next season,” he said, giving no clue as to whether he would stay at the club until 2025.
PSG were held to a 1-1 draw in Strasbourg on Saturday, with the title still a game away.
Frank Hyes was named coach of the season after guiding Lens to second place, which saw the northern club play in the Champions League for the first time in 21 years.
„It’s a story of three seasons. Those who are no longer involved in this adventure, I will not forget you,” said Hyes, who took over the first team in 2020 while in Ligue 2.
„What we went through was unforgettable.”
Lens also had four players in its team of the season — Bryce Samba, defender Kevin Danzo, midfielder Sego Fobana and striker Lois Opanda — with Samba named best goalkeeper.
Four players were selected in PSG’s squad — forwards Mbappe and Lionel Messi, plus fullbacks Nuno Mendes and Akraf Hakimi.
