Lance Bass believes fans should forgive Justin Timberlake amid backlash from his former bandmate NSYNC following the release of Britney Spears’ memoir “The Woman In Me.”
Spears and Timberlake began dating in 1999, when Spears was 17 and Timberlake was 18, and split in 2002. Spears recounted the early days of her relationship with Timberlake and some of the setbacks she faced during that time. Together, she wrote, „There were two times in our relationship when I found out that Justin had cheated on me.”
on Saturday, TMZ shared the footage Bass at Los Angeles International Airport, in which Bass expresses his thoughts on the backlash against Timberlake.
„Look, I mean everybody has an opinion,” Bass said. „I feel like the world is so full of hate right now, we need to forgive a little. Britney did, let’s take a cue from her.
The former NSYNC singer shared that she has already purchased Spears’ memoir and plans to „read it on the plane.”
„Everyone deserves to tell their story,” Bass added. „She did, and you know, I hope the fans can find some forgiveness again.”
In addition to the cheating allegations leveled against Timberlake, Spears also makes other revelations about her relationship with the „Cry Me a River” singer, including an abortion she had after she became pregnant with his child.
„Justin was definitely not happy about the pregnancy. He said we weren’t ready to have a baby in our lives, we were too young,” Spears writes in her book.
