Lana Del Rey was joined by surprise guest Camila Cabello during her weekend two performance at Coachella 2024.
On Friday night (April 19), the „Summertime Sadness” songstress welcomed Cabello to the stage to perform her new single, „I Love It.”
After Del Rey temporarily left the stage, Capello emerged with backup dancers for a lively delivery of his hyper-pop collab with Playboy Cardi (who didn't appear at the Indio. Calif. festival).
Del Rey watched mostly admiringly, but added a few lines, at one point putting her hands on Cabello's hips and playfully twirling her around.
„I love it, I love it, I love it, I love it,” Del Rey sang to the Fifth Harmony alum after finishing the song. “She is my girl. I have so much fun with her. I love this song to death. Thank you so much for coming to sing with me, Devati”
Capello responded, „It's an honor, you're one of my favorite artists of all time. Thank you so much.”
On X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday, Capello rehashed his feelings about sharing the stage with Del Rey the night before. I will write more than a few posts„Not only is Lana Del Rey the once in a lifetime artist Billie said it best, she's the reason for all of you, including me!!!!”
„He inspired many artists visually lyrically musically and moved the art form forward,” Capello said. „I don't know who I would be without female artists like her who show me what's possible. How to be free. How to be tough and soft at the same time. How to turn your life into a work of art. Thank you for including us in your moment last night. I am forever at your service my Girl.”
In late March, before the release of „I Love It,” Del Rey Showed some love For a dynamic monologue on social media. „I love it,” the singer-songwriter captioned black-and-white photos of the „Señorita” singer on Instagram. Capello left a series of crown emojis and headed to the comment section of the post.
Del Rey's weekend of two performances at Coachella follows her guest-filled set on April 12, the popular music fest's opening day. During the show, she sang John Bautista's „Candy Necklace,” Jack Antonoff's „Hope Is a Dangerous Thing” and duets with Billie Eilish on „Ocean's Eyes” and „Video Games.”
Del Rey's roughly 90-minute Coachella set last weekend boasted some truly stunning set design, an eerily seductive hologram moment, her trademark brooding vocals, a generous helping of sleazy charm, and some stripper poles twirled by the singer herself.
