When Killer Mike released his sixth studio album Michael Last June, it marked his first solo studio album in over a decade. Earlier this year, the record was awarded Best Rap Album at the 2024 Grammy Awards. The accolade would have been the perfect finale to this chapter in the rapper’s career, but he’s not ready to move on just yet. On Friday, Killer Mike will be released Hymns for Sinners and Saints.

He found himself with more experience working in the recording booth. Her single „Humble Me,” which appears on the project, recounts her experience of being arrested at the Grammy Awards the same night she won the award for Best Rap Album.
“I don’t just do sound and feel Michael, I realized that I might not be able to complete some of the songs from there,” continued the composer. From „Slummer” and „Something for Junkies”. Michael, he explained, “happened in the same universe. I always saw the two songs as one long play, so this was an opportunity to try it out. These are songs that deserve a different approach, and now I like which version better.
