Kidswear Trade Show 'Kids Show’ Comes to New York – WWD

Trade show operator IGECO USA, Deutsche Messe AG and the American branch of the Italian Exhibition Group, or IEG, have announced that they will host the inaugural edition of Kids Fair, a children’s apparel trade show in Manhattan on February 11th and 12th. Next year.

Comprised of around 60 exhibitors from various countries and covering children’s clothing across the spectrum, from infants to toddlers and young adults, the trade fair is interspersed with talks and fashion shows.

According to market research firm Statista, the children’s apparel market will reach $267.5 billion in revenue by 2023, driven largely by the United States, which represents nearly 20 percent of the business. The market is expected to grow at a CAGR of 2.46 percent till 2027.

“The show enables us to showcase all the different iterations of children’s fashion with a rich offering that includes lifestyle and maternity products, available on both sides at their best. [kidswear] concept stores,” said show director Virginia Zingone, who belongs to the Zingone children’s clothing family company that helped propel the show to international visibility.

The Italian kidswear brands participating in the trade show were selected by Ente Moda Italia, a Florence-based organization led by the Florence Center for Italian Fashion and Sistema Moda Italia.

“Wholesale today… is of fundamental importance to small and medium-sized Italian fashion companies. To this end, trade shows and exhibitions are essential tools to effectively penetrate an interesting but complex market like the US,” added Alberto Scacioni, CEO of Ente Moda Italia.

IGECO USA did not disclose the city’s exact location, but expected the trade show to feature recycled and reusable decorations and has developed relationships with local partners on fair logistics.

Its organizers have a long track record in trade show management. Deutsche Messe was founded in 1947 and organizes around 150 trade shows each year, while the Milan trade-listed Italian exhibition group Vicenza Oro is the company behind the jewelery trade fair.
