Variety Kering has announced the initial lineup for Women in Motion Talks at the Cannes Film Festival. This year’s colloquium includes some notable women working in cinema.
On May 18, Variety Associate-Editor-in-Chief Ramin Setude will interview NBC Universal Studios Group President and Chief Content Officer Donna Langley to touch on a pivotal year for the studio, including the upcoming feature “Wicked.” The conversation comes at an important time for Langley and the studio, as Universal Pictures will receive an international achievement award on the film. Variety Langley will receive the Women in Motion Award at this year’s Cannes Film Festival at a banquet hosted by Kering on May 19.
Interview by Julianne Moore at the second talk on 19 May Variety is Veteran entertainment writer Angelique Jackson. On May 20, Jackson will interview Zoe Saldana in Jacques Audiard’s “Emilia Perez.” Finally, Jackson is joined by Cate Blanchett, Coco Francini, and Dr. Stacey L. Smith, the founders of the Proof of Concept Accelerator program.
The speaking program will also include conversations with other leading figures from the French cinema and entertainment industries, including actress and filmmaker Judith Godrech, who is spearheading the second #MeToo wave in France and officially launched her latest film, “Moi Aussie”. The exam is supported by the Kering Foundation.
