New Delhi:

Noted lyricist-screenwriter Javed Akhtar said his X account was „hacked”, following which a „completely harmless” message about the Indian team for the Paris Olympics 2024 was sent in his name.

The 79-year-old, who actively uses the micro-blogging platform to express his views on various topics, shared an update on his page on Sunday night.

„My X ID has been hacked. There is a message from my account that appears to be about our Indian team for the Olympics. It’s completely harmless but I didn’t send it,” Mr Akhtar wrote.

He did not disclose when he found out about the security breach, nor did he describe the contents of the post allegedly sent from his verified handle.

„We are in the process of filing a complaint” with the relevant authorities on the social media platform, the industry veteran told his 4.6 million followers on X.

His biography on stage reads: „A poet, songwriter, screenwriter, atheist and an ardent believer”. His handle on X is „@Javedakhtarjadu”.
