Users of Elon Musk-owned social network X, formerly known as Twitter, reported multiple problems accessing the website and app on Friday evening.
According to monitoring service Downdetector, bug reports for X started to increase around 9:30pm PT. As of 9:42 pm PT, problem reports had increased to more than 7,000, with 66% of users reporting problems with the app, 29% reporting problems with the site, and 5% citing server-connection issues.
According to several users who posted on Downdetector, the dates of all X posts in their feeds were showing „December, 31, 1969”. One commenter said they can access X „but no posts are showing, while home shows a welcome message.” Not sure what is causing the problems. The downdetector page for X showed a concentration of problem reports from the New York metro area.
