„This year’s vise moot issue is an excellent example of the procedural and substantive issues that arise in international commercial disputes before arbitral tribunals. We are delighted that the ICC Rules will once again apply to Moot – and what better time than in the centenary year of the ICC Court. As a former Moot, I benefited greatly from the input of those who coached my team, reviewed our notes, and graded our oral submissions.I urge my fellow professionals today—lawyers, arbitrators, corporate representatives, and academics—to embrace Moot’s work and dedicate a fraction of their time to this year’s students and their efforts. Let the games begin!”
“Cybersecurity, the core issue of this year’s case, is particularly fitting to celebrate the centenary of the ICC Court. As a world trade body, the ICC is not only one of the leading arbitral institutions, but also a leader in resolving these and other pressing issues in international trade. Stefan Kröll, Director of the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot said:
Law students from around the world will gather in Vienna in March for the biggest arbitral academic event of the year, billed as the „Olympic Games of International Commercial Law.” The aim of the competition is to promote the study of international commercial law and arbitration and to provide students with practical training in the resolution of international commercial disputes.
Prior to the oral rounds, competing teams participate in breakout sessions to present their case. The ICC is organizing its annual Wis Prem 2024 in Paris between March 14 and 16. More information will be available soon.
