The event has added significance as it is a key qualifier for the relay events at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

The program consists of five relay events:
4x100m and 4x400m for women
Men's 4x100m and 4x400m
Medley 4x400m
One team per country can compete in each tournament and each team can have a maximum of eight athletes. Among the entrants, except for the mixed 4x400m, four athletes may be used in each relay team, with a maximum of six athletes (three men and three women) entered after the first round with one alternate place. .
Prize money
The following prize money will be awarded to the top eight teams in each tournament:

If a team breaks the world record, a prize of US$50,000 will be awarded subject to achievement recognition.
Olympic qualification
The top 14 teams in each event at the World Athletics Relays Bahamas 24 automatically qualify for places at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. The remaining two seats in each department will be awarded on the basis of merit lists during the qualifying period (31 December 2022 to 30 June 2024).
Olympic spots are up for grabs on both days in the Bahamas. On the first day, the top two teams in each heat will advance to the finals on the second day, while also qualifying for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
In the finals on the second day, teams will compete for prize money and Olympic lane seeding positions.
All other teams will compete on the second day of an additional round, where the top two teams in each heat will qualify for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
