’I Woke Up A Vampire’ returns to Netflix for Season 2

One of the new kid-flavored Halloween titles arriving in 2023 is a new co-production I woke up a vampire Netflix shares the license with the Canadian network Family Channel. If you’re wondering if the show has been renewed, don’t wonder; The show will return for Season 2.

The program was initially created under the name Prisoners Netflix evolved later I woke up a vampire. Tommy Lynch is behind the title, behind the Wildbrain series. Lynch is perhaps the most famous The Secret World of Alex Mack to Nickelodeon.

On her thirteenth birthday, Carmi Henley (Kyleen Song) discovers that she is a „Wampling” with new powers. Along with her best friend Kev (Nico Ceci), she navigates a dual identity while dealing with puberty, the school musical and a relentless vampire hunter. Her journey of self-discovery is complicated by her desire for acceptance and her need for secrecy. The cast also includes Sebastian Borgio, Ana Araujo, Alia Cinello and Kris Siddiqui.

The show was marketed under Netflix’s “After School” banner and was released on Netflix on October 17, following its premiere on the Family channel in the spring of 2023.

Since its debut on Netflix, it has featured not only in the kids’ top 10s but also in the TV top 10s in many countries. According to FlixPatrol, at least 84 territories have seen the show feature in their TV Top 10s for multiple days or so far in its entire run on the service. At the time of publication on October 23, the show was still the fourth most-watched title in the US TV Top 10 and number one in the children’s charts.

I woke up a vampire Renewed for Season 2? Kind of.

This is not a renewal, but rather an advance directive for the show. Series author, Rob Chandler. The editor has previously worked on titles such as Don’t hang upDisney’s search, And The Perfect Caretaker, On his bio page he says:

„A SUPER COOL PROJECT I CUT DROPPED ON NETFLIX WORLDWIDE „I WOKE UP A VAMPIRE” A HUGE AWESOME SCRIPT TEEN SHOW, 2 SEASONS BACK TO BACK. 13-year-old Carmi is a happy-go-lucky teenager who feels like an outcast. It’s Green / Blue Covers all kinds of superhero genre VFX with screens and more. Produced by Showrunner Tommy Lynch and Wildbrien”

Sandler’s resume lists two seasons for the show, noting that “Wildbrain for Netflix 2 seasons coming out in 2023.”

Those additional eight episodes have already been released on the Family Channel in Canada, suggesting their Netflix release could be imminent.

Episodes 9 to 16 will air between July and September 2023 and will be titled Season 1 on Family Channel, but will be labeled Season 2 on Netflix.
