2024/25 season details
The 2024/25 season will consist of 33 weekends, four midweek rounds and one bank holiday matchweek.
The campaign will start on the weekend of 17th August 2024. The final match of the 2024/25 season will be played on 25 May 2025, when all matches will start at the same time as usual.
In line with previous commitments made to clubs to address congested schedules across Christmas and the New Year, arrangements will be made to allow more rest in the three festive competition rounds, with no club playing within 60 hours of another competition. There will be no competition on 24 December 2024.
The mid-season break was also removed from the calendar to allow a mid-August start date for the Premier League.
This long summer break allows all Premier League clubs to work hard to ensure players get three consecutive weeks off in the summer. It takes into account expert advice from the medical and technical fields, which values a long period of complete rest in summer rather than a short break in winter.
