Phil Apter believes that WWE could block CM Punk’s return and have him appear straight during the 2024 Men’s Royal Rumble match.
Over the past few weeks, there have been widespread rumors that The Second City Saint will return to the global juggernaut at Survivor Series 2023 in his hometown of Chicago. However, according to a recent report, the rumors are apparently false and the company is not in talks with CM Punk.
Bill Apter is still optimistic about the former AEW Champion’s return to WWE. On Sportskeida UnSKriptedThe wrestler said that the promotion could be keeping Punk’s return under wraps and showing him directly during the 2024 Men’s Royal Rumble match.
„It’s all over the internet that there are no talks between WWE and CM Punk. Officially, supposedly. I think they’re holding it off until the Royal Rumble. He’ll be a surprise,” said Bill Apter. [20:13 – 20:27]

WWE Legend Eric Bischoff Wants CM Punk To Return In 2024 Royal Rumble
In his latest episode 83 weeks podcast, Eric Bischoff explains why it would be better for CM Punk to return at the Royal Rumble next year than at Survivor Series 2023. The former RAW GM thinks the Chicago crowd will be huge at Survivor Series. Show or not.
“Of course. No question about it. They don’t need Chicago Pop. Whether he shows up or not, Chicago is going to pop anyway. No added value. No. Zero,” Eric Bischoff said.
While it remains to be seen how things will pan out in the coming months, it’s safe to say that Punk’s return to WWE could open the door for many dream matches.
