Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino must now put his side’s incredible 4-1 win over Tottenham at the back of his mind to host defending champions and current league leaders Manchester City.
VAR drama, two red cards, five offside goals and five real goals all eventually led to the Blues taking home all three points, which lifted them into the top half of the table. Reece James returns to the side in this clash, giving the captain his first league start in the opening weekend against Liverpool.
Chelsea were without seven first-team players on Monday and will hope to have a few more waiting over the next few weeks. Here, Football.London Bringing you the latest from The Treatment Room of the Blues.
Reese James
James was given his first start in the league since his injury against Liverpool. He played over 75 minutes and was involved in the go-ahead goal in the 2–1 win against Spurs before being replaced by Malo Gusteau.
Michael Mudryk
Mudric was not in the matchday squad to face Brentford last weekend and also missed the cup win over Blackburn. However, he was in the squad against Tottenham, where he made a late cameo and is set to return to his regular minutes this weekend after being ill.

Christopher Nungu
Nkunku is yet to play a competitive game for Chelsea following his summer move from RB Leipzig. The 25-year-old suffered a heavy blow to the knee during a pre-season friendly against Borussia Dortmund.
He has taken his recovery plan to the next level – and for the first time since the summer, Nkunku was spotted out on the training pitch in Cobham in his Chelsea gear. Now, Pochettino has hinted that the France international could return to action after the November international break.
Possible return date: Newcastle United (A) – Saturday, November 25

As stated therein Mail, Lavia has taken concrete steps towards a full recovery but is expected to be out of action until the end of November. The Belgian was able to take off his protective boots in October and he began his rehabilitation program at the Gobham training ground, according to the report.
Mail A return to November is seen as 'hopeful’. The west Londoners are believed to be wary of bringing him back ahead of schedule, meaning Lavia will not return until early December.
Here’s what Pochettino said: “I can’t tell you [when he will be back] But he still didn’t run. „He will not be back after the international break.”
Possible return date: December

Ben Chilwell
Chilwell missed the end of Chelsea’s clash with Brighton in the Carabao Cup at the end of September. Unfortunately for the Blues defender, the club quickly realized the muscle problem was worse than first thought, and a month later, he is still out of action.
Here’s what Pochettino said: “I can’t tell you [when he will be back]. It’s hard to know. He is now away from the training ground and we will wait for his return to see the situation. I hope he recovers as soon as possible.”
