Could Britney Spears and Jay-Z work together? Well, not exactly — but the „Circus” singer is trying to do just that. In the caption of an Instagram post on Monday (Oct. 9), Spears proposed a cover of Beyoncé’s “Daddy Lessons,” featuring Jay-Z’s new rap verse.
„A lot of people have remixed my songs without me knowing… so it’s safe to say I’ll be making this song again!!!” She wrote. „Meet Jay-Z and add a rap to it…what the hell???” In the video, which is soundtracked by „Daddy Lessons,” Spears gyrates her hips in her signature low-rise bra, paired with a black top and matching heeled boots.
„Daddy Lessons” is a country song from Beyoncé’s blockbuster Lemon drink album. Upon the album’s release in April 2016, the song debuted and peaked at number 41 on the Billboard Hot 100. A remix featuring The Six was released later that year, and the Texans performed the song at the 50th Annual Country Music Association Awards. .
This isn’t the first time Spears has shown love to one of her fellow pop icons on Instagram. Last month, he released a video of himself performing a knife choreography inspired by Shakira’s Video Vanguard performance at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards. After many expressed alarm over the knives, Spears edited the video’s caption: „I started playing with knives in the kitchen today!!! Don’t worry they’re not real knives!!! Halloween is coming soon!!!”
The video quickly went viral, leading to concerns about Spears’ well-being and a wellness check administered by the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office. Ultimately, “after confirming with two independent persons who knew him intimately [Spears]”She was in good spirits,” Capt. Dean Worthy said, „and we did our due diligence to check on her well-being, and we don’t believe she was harmed.”
In return, Spears took over Instagram Criticize health check as „power to police” „Joke in the news again with welfare checks???” She wrote. „Come on America … we’re cooler than that, aren’t we???”
