This was the week when every man and their dog (65% of them in Bristol) went to their local polling station to vote in the general election.

The week began with football fans celebrating England’s victory over Slovakia in the Euros at Ashton Gate on Sunday.

England women’s cricket team celebrated victory by defeating New Zealand by 5 wickets in the match in Bristol.

Bristol Sounds ended the week-long series of events with a closing performance by rock band The Breeders.

Polling day is over: Election day is not complete without cute photos of dogs at polling booths. These furry friends accompanied their human companions to nominate their favorite candidates.

Making History: Carla Denier is pictured outside her local polling station the day before she was elected Bristol’s first Green MP in Bristol Central. The Green Party co-leader defeated Labour’s Gold Debonair, who has held the previous seat of Bristol West since 2015.

Smiles all around: England fans gather at Ashton Gate for a screening of the England v Slovakia match at a sports bar. After a disappointing draw against Slovenia the previous week, fans were hoping England would progress to the quarter-finals.

Target! Judd Bellingham and Harry Kane scored a dramatic extra-time goal each to cheer England fans and seal England’s place in the quarter-finals.

Rock On: While many Bristolians were living in Glastonbury, thousands attended the final night of Bristol Sounds at the Harborside, with rock band Breeders closing the show on Sunday 30 June.

Lost in music: Music lovers danced on the last day of the week-long music event. Bristol Sounds finished with an eclectic line-up featuring the likes of Cats, Welly, Mary in the Junkyard, The Weave, Grandma’s House, CSS, Ty Segall and The Breeders.

Smile for the camera! Bristol Sounds is a family friendly event which starts at 13:00 BST and finishes at 22:30.

Passionate and Passionate: Bristol is very popular sscience museum has reopened more than two years after a fire broke out in the roof of the We the Curious building. This week visitors enjoyed exploring some of the museum’s mesmerizing exhibits, from flying through space in the planetarium to engaging in the museum’s „impossible” activities.

That winning feeling: England beat New Zealand by 5 wickets in the third Women’s ODI in Bristol. Lauren Bell took her first five-wicket haul to help England win the ODI series 3-0 against New Zealand.
