Beyoncé's 'Cowboy Carter' Breaks Streaming Records on Spotify & Amazon Music

Beyoncé's debut album in the country music genre, Cowboy CarterReleased on March 29, it is already breaking records on streaming platforms.

After the „Texas Hold 'Em” singer dropped her new album, Spotify said it was the platform's „most streamed album in a single day so far in 2024.”

„This year marks the first time a country album has headlined,” Spotify shared Instagram.

Amazon Music said in a statement Instagram,”Cowboy Carter The platform marks Beyoncé's biggest album debut with „the first-day worldwide streams of all her albums and the first-day streams for a country album by a female artist.”

Cowboy Carter is Beyoncé's eighth studio album. It features collaborations with Miley Cyrus, Post Malone, Rhiannon Giddens, Stevie Wonder, Nile Rodgers, Ray, Ryan Beatty and John Bautista. The album pays homage to Dolly Parton with a cover of „Joline,” by Linda Martel and Willie Nelson.

Beyoncé previously opened up about her inspiration for making the album, which she said was years in the making.

„It was born out of an experience I had years ago where I wasn't welcome … and it was very clear that I wasn't,” she shared in a recent Instagram post. „Because of that experience, I became deeply immersed in country music history and studied our rich music archive.”

He continued, „It's great to see how music unites so many people around the world, while amplifying the voices of some who have dedicated their lives to teaching our music history.”
