Amidst Kate Middleton's recovery from cancer, her mother Carole has been a rock for Prince William's family.

Carole Middleton has emerged as the 'driving force' of Prince William and Kate Middleton's two-decade journey as a couple. Now that Kate Middleton is undergoing her cancer treatment, her role as a mother is even more important.

Carole Middleton, 69, lives with her husband Michael in a spacious manor in Bucklebury, a small village located 32 miles from Prince William and Kate's Windsor home. This proximity allowed her to be intimate with the lives of the Prince and Princess of Wales.

Kate's recent health challenges have seen Carol improve significantly. She has taken an active role in managing the day-to-day activities of their children George, Charlotte and Louis.

Carol's involvement ranges from driving the children to school, providing them with emotional support and stability during a turbulent time, reports The Independent.

„Carole has been the driving force behind keeping the family at a minimum of fuss and maximum modesty. She has taken George, Louis and Charlotte to school sports and provided them with endless support. She is a real Mary Poppins figure,” a source close to the family told The Independent.

The source also revealed that Carole gave William and Kate the „three R's”. „She came to the rescue, reassured and was a rock for Catherine and William as they came to terms with the news,” the source revealed.

„His actions are very different from those who receive support from afar,” the source added.

'She's a strong woman'

William's appreciation for Carol's involvement demonstrates her influence. Ingrid Seward, editor-in-chief of Majesty magazine, believes that not only Kate but also William considers his parents family.

'Having been with the children from the start, he loves having Carol around to help and it's easy and reassuring to have her invaluable help. Keeping up with the kids and Catherine's enthusiasm. She is a strong woman!' Seward said, the Daily Mail reported.
