More than 1.2 million people gathered Move for the planetAdidas’ new global initiative harnessed the collective action of sports communities around the world.
With more than 173 million active minutes tracked across the country on the Adidas Running app, Adidas pledged to donate €1 for every 10 minutes of activity recorded in 34 sports from June 1 to 12. €1.5m
These contributions will support projects around the world that educate and engage communities through sport. One organization selected by adidas and Common Goal is ISF Cambodia (ISF), a company with 16 years of experience using education and sport to transform lives.
The specific project will enable the installation of solar panels to light their soccer fields – while using renewable energy to create safe spaces for the girls and the wider community to practice.
Apart from the solar panels, together with Football for the Future and the common goal, adidas facilitates education on environmental sustainability through sport for the ISF with a focus on helping the company raise awareness of environmental action in the community.
This will complement the ISF workshops on environmental protection, single-use plastics and waste management processes, where the children and youth involved can be positive role models for their communities.

Ashley Sarnowski, Adidas’ Senior Director of Global Purpose Marketing said: „We encouraged our global sports community to take action and go to the places we play – and they did! Sports has the power to bring people together, drive social change, and make real, meaningful change – and it’s so rewarding to see this in action. Support from around the world like the Indochina Starfish Foundation We look forward to seeing the impact the Move for the Planet projects have.
Move for the Planet is part of adidas’ broader sustainability initiatives as the company continues its mission to do what’s best for athletes. Earlier this year, Adidas announced that it plans to replace as much virgin polyester with recycled polyester as possible on its journey by the end of 2024. By 2022, 96% of the polyester Adidas uses is recycled.
As the brand looks ahead to 2024 and beyond, it will expand its focus beyond recycled polyester. It will do this through three key areas of focus: transforming materials by testing and measuring new raw materials, rethinking entire processes, designing products with an end-of-life solution and reducing its carbon footprint.
