Arsenal are thinking that Manchester City are now just one win away from another league title after being beaten 3-0 by Brighton.
After a valiant effort throughout the season, Arsenal’s unlikely title charge was all but over following a disastrous 3-0 defeat to Brighton at the Emirates.
Mikel Arteta’s men only knew victory as Manchester City beat Everton by the same scoreline later that afternoon. And yet, they were outplayed by Brighton from the first whistle, with Roberto de Gerby’s men producing a remarkable performance to resign their hosts to their second defeat of the entire campaign.
As a result, the Gunners are certain to finish second in the Premier League this term, something they surely should have taken before a ball was kicked back in August last year, but they are feeling let down at the front. At the top.

Arteta shoulders the blame
After Brighton’s defeat, the Arsenal boss admitted he felt he had let people down after gifting City a fifth league title in six seasons.
He told Sky Sports: „I hate to let people down when they’re really expecting something. That’s the biggest regret I have today.”
Arteta continued. Adding: „A week ago, I was proud to stand here and today we have to apologize for the way we played in the second half. It was not accepted.
„Mathematically, it’s still possible, but we can’t think about it today. We have to digest the result and the performance in the second half, understand why and have a different reaction.”

Laporte’s cheeky Twitter dig
City star Aymeric Laporte appears to have mocked Arsenal with his latest tweet after the defender posted a hilarious gif in response to the Gunners’ defeat against Brighton.
Laporte uploaded a gif of Dwayne 'The Rock’ Johnson to indicate how close Guardiola’s side are to winning their fifth Premier League title in six seasons.
The City players are well aware that they are now just one win away from glory, with their next match coming at home to Chelsea.

Keane defeated Kiwior
Pundit Roy Keane was baffled by Arsenal’s Jakub Kiwier deputizing for Brighton’s first goal when the Poland international went down clutching his ankle and leaving goalscorer Julio Enzo unmarked.
Following the full-time whistle, Keane berated Giviero for his behaviour, telling Sky Sports pundit Micah Richards during a discussion of the incident: „His foot didn’t come out.”
Kivier has responded to that By Drama: „I felt contact, lost my boot and didn’t even see the goal. I was hoping VAR would intervene and rule out the goal, but unfortunately, the ref saw it differently.”
