Paris 2024 Paralympics | They give us chills: Alexandre Lude

A Giant’s Record, An Ogre’s Ambitions

In October 2000, Alexandre, born in Saint-Caradec in central Brittany, suffered a stroke at birth that left him with 95% of the power in his right leg, but didn’t stop him from catching the cycling bug. His father’s footsteps. What if only one foot pedals? He pedals fast, hard and long!

Despite his handicap, he began competing with talented cyclists in top regional races and was soon discovered and recruited into French teams. He later discovered velodrome and track events.

He never really had to choose between road races and track events, which today gives him many strings to his bow, a list of giant achievements and an ogre’s ambitions before the start of the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.

Alexandre Léauté also knows that a top-level athlete must learn to protect himself: growing in demand due to growing fame, popularity and friendship, he sometimes forgets to say no. So much so that it doesn’t seem right. So much so that he no longer felt it. „But I feel bad and I can’t allow myself to complain”.

His family and teammates supported him and pulled him out of this deep depression. Now He is willing to give it all back, a hundredfold!
