Gravitas Ventures has acquired the US and Canadian rights to 'Another Happy Day’

Independent film distributor Gravitas Ventures has acquired U.S. and Canadian rights to „Another Good Day,” written and directed by Norah Pfeiffer. Starring Lauren Lapkus, Marilyn Dodds Frank, Gene Ely and Gary Coon, the comedy is set for release on digital and cable video on October 1st.

According to the film’s logline: “Desperate for some company, delusional new mother Joanna strikes up an unlikely friendship with her estranged aunt Miriam, a lonely actress. Miriam seems like the perfect match for Jonah: she’s artful, honest, eccentric, and she hates children. But everything goes awry when Joanna tries to mother her aunt instead of her child. 'Another Happy Day’ is an absurd, tense comedy that explores postpartum depression, intergenerational friendships and what it means to be a family.

Starring Mike Castle, Frances Keenan, Hannah Dworkin, Alex Weisman, Brian Coffee, Adam Bose, Nora Pfeiffer, Jesse Holder Tourdellotte and Tim Kazurinsky.

According to Gravitas Ventures, the film was led by a group of mothers, and the production prioritized eight-hour work days and made childcare for parents a key tenant of the budget and fundraising efforts.

„’Another Happy Day’ is a movie I wish I had seen before I became a mother,” Pfeiffer said in a statement. „It’s a funny, deep and tender film about a new mother who doesn’t have the skills to be a new mother. The story touches on the postpartum period, with the easy-to-miss post-natal depression.

The film was produced by Tourdellotte, Pfeiffer and Quinn Nicholson. Coon, Lapkus, Eugene Sun Park, Chris Anderson, Anna Van Mertens, and Howard and Bev Rossman served as executive producers.
