Jimmy Kimmel's 2024 Oscars Ad Is a Foreigner Hit

a foreigner There is a moment. The band, currently nominated for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, is being saluted in a commercial promoting the Oscars on March 10. The ad replaces Foreigner's 1977 breakthrough hit „Feels Like Thee.” First time” with the copy line “feels like the fourth time” because it's comedian Jimmy Kimmel's fourth time hosting. The line has many of Kimmel's trademarks — clever, a little corny, and sweet.

„Feels Like the First Time” entered the Billboard Hot 100 in March 1977 and peaked at No. 4, the band's first of nine top 10 hits.

Since foreigners have been in the news for the past month Mark Ronson, stepson of Outlaw guitarist and principal writer Mick Jones, is campaigning to get the band into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Ronson assembled a collection of videos of famous friends voicing their support for the band.

„We decided to go all year to get foreigners on the ballot for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame,” Ronson said. The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. “I called in some help. I know Jack Black and Dave Grohl and Slash are fans of Outsider, and there are some people I've met along the way making music myself.

Jones is the sole writer of foreign hits such as „Feels Like the First Time,” „Hurry,” „I Wanna Know What Love Means” (which earned him a Grammy Award for Song of the Year) and „I Don't.” Gotta Live Without You” and co-wrote “Cold As Ice,” “Hot Blooded,” “Double Vision,” “Waiting For A Girl Like You” and “Say You Will” with Lou Gramm. All of these songs reached the top 10 on the Hot 100.

The Oscars will air on March 10 at a new, earlier time: 7 pm ET/4 pm PT. Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees will be announced in late April.
