Limerick City and County Council has announced the appointment of a new Nightlife Economy Advisor to help revitalize Limerick's nightlife offering.
Ashlene Raeburn was appointed to the role on a two-year pilot contract following her return to Ireland from Australia, where she has lived most of her life.
The Nightlife Economy (NTE) Advisory Role is a two-year initiative funded by the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media and aims to improve Limerick City's nightlife.
In her role as NTE consultant, Ms Reyburn will establish a team with inclusive representation to produce a coordinated action plan through data-driven approaches, research and consultation.
Ms Rayburn's role will cover areas such as place adaptation, public area safety improvements, cultural event management and incentives for late-night retail.
This post is inspired by other European cities and originates from the recommendation of the National NTE Task Force.
Commenting on her appointment, Ashlene Raeburn said, „With a focus on inclusion and collaboration, I aim to bring innovative solutions to Limerick that improve the overall experience for residents and visitors of all ages and interests.”
„I look forward to making a dynamic and positive impact on the night-time economy, fostering a city where diverse activities thrive and community thrives after the sun goes down,” he said.
Similar roles are available in other counties across Ireland, including Dublin, Donegal, Cork and Sligo, with salaries ranging from €55,000 to €71,000.
