Rector of the University of Salamanca, Ricardo Rivero, welcomes the technology company Kyndryl located in the USAL Science Park located in Villamayor, with a total of 160 employees, working in the M2 building of the park.

The event was attended by the Deputy Government representatives in Salamanca, Miriam Vicente; Director of Parks and Vice-Chancellor of Economics, Javier González Benitoand Manager of the Pulsed Laser Center, Pedro Garcia Garciaas well as representatives of companies established in the park.
The company was created in 2021 as a spin off of IBM and designs, builds, manages and modernizes enterprise IT infrastructure systems, artificial intelligence capabilities, as well as data and analytics for enterprise clients and has offices in Madrid, Barcelona. Granada, Valencia, Bilbao, Lisbon and now Salamanca. Kyndryl's workforce in Spain is 3,500, with another 1,500 added through subcontractors.
Serving 250 customers
Kyndryl provides its services to 250 clients, including the municipalities of Madrid and Alcobendas, banking institutions such as BBVA, Banco Santander, Banc Sabadell, Unicaja and Caixabank; Ministry of Defence, Vodafone and Mapfrey, among others.
„This presentation is a good reflection of the development of the park, which is growing by providing business opportunities, but also job opportunities in important sectors such as the use of new technologies,” the Rector said in his speech. „We are enabling more spaces to allow new institutions to set up,” the university's forecast revealed.
Company representative, Diego Sánchez Ramiro, added to the growth potential of its center in the park, expressing „how proud it is for a newly created company like us to be in Salamanca and to be connected to this university.”
For his part, Villamayor's vice mayor, Daniel Velasco, highlighted „the joy of a municipality like ours having international immigration here” and offered his cooperation to the „social and cultural initiatives” that Kindril wants. We should develop together with neighboring countries.
