IU has released the music video for her new song 'Love Wins All', featuring an appearance by BTS' V.
In the music video for 'Love Wins All', IU and V play survivors in a post-apocalyptic world where humans are haunted by strange floating cubes. The pair soon find refuge in an abandoned shopping mall, where they discover an old-school camcorder with the ability to allow them to see the world as if it had never been invaded.
Lovers escape from their reality and spend the day having a romantic party, taking wedding photos and partying. But soon, their fantasy is shattered when they are discovered by one of the Cubes, a camcorder capturing their final moments together.
„Two of us, side by side, straying on purpose / Crushing me in your arms / Give me a loving kiss, lover / Our love conquers all, love conquers all,” sings IU in the chorus of her new song.
'Love Wins All' was originally titled 'Love Wins', but was renamed shortly after IU faced backlash for allegedly „queerbaiting” with the song's original title. In a statement announcing the rebranding, EDAM Entertainment said the move would „respect and support everyone who loves in different ways.”
Meanwhile, 'Love Wins All' is IU's first solo release since her 2021 mini album 'Pieces', which featured several previously unreleased songs. In the same year, he also dropped his fifth full-length studio album, 'Lilac'. The singer is expected to release new music in the first half of 2024.
Earlier this month, IU also announced her massive 2024 'HER' world tour. The 29-date trek starts in March and runs through August, with concerts in Asia, Europe and the US.
