Aishwarya Rajinikanth’s Lal Salaam: Sports Drama Teaser OUT; Rajinikanth shared Diwali greetings

Directed by Aishwarya Rajinikanth and starring Vishnu Vishal and Vikrant, Lal Salaam is expected to release during Pongal next year. Touted to be a sports drama film, Superstar Rajinikanth is making a special appearance.

Produced by Subhaskaran Alliraja under Lyca Productions, AR Rahman is composing the music. The film also stars famous cricketer Kapil Dev in an important role.

Apart from that, Rajinikanth shared a Diwali greeting video today and said that he wishes everyone a prosperous Diwali and will meet everyone in the upcoming Pongal as Moideen Bai in Lal Salaam.

Lal Salaam marks Aishwarya Rajinikanth’s return to the director’s chair after films like 3 (2012) and Vai Raja Vai (2015). The film also marks her first project after her separation from husband Dhanush in 2022.

Interestingly, the Aishwarya Rajinikanth-directed film will release on Pongal 2024, while the Dhanush-starrer Captain Miller will also release. The queues for Pongal releases are all turning interesting and it will be a sight to see unfold.

Rajinikanth’s sequences

Superstar Rajinikanth’s last film Jailer, directed by Nelson Dilip Kumar, was a huge hit at the theatres. Starring Rajinikanth in the lead role, the film featured Vinayak, Ramya Krishnan, Vasanth Ravi and others with cameo appearances by Jackie Shroff, Shiva Rajkumar and Mohanlal.

Also, Rajinikanth is currently busy shooting for Jai Bheem director DJ Gnanavel’s next. Tentatively titled Leader 170, the film is said to revolve around the story of a retired Muslim police officer and is expected to have a socially relevant plot. The film also has an ensemble cast of Amitabh Bachchan, Rana Daggubati, Fahadh Basil, Manju Warrier, Ritika Singh and Tusara Vijayan.

Apart from that, rumors are rife that actor Raghava Lawrence, Prithviraj Sukumaran and Mammootty have been approached for Rajinikanth’s tentatively titled Leader 171 directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj.
