„We all have to make a choice – to be a hero or a villain.”

The familiarity of Morgan Freeman’s commanding voice couldn’t quiet the fans — 80,000 of them, reportedly — standing around Coachella’s Sahara Tent. The menacing tone of his monologue, paired with producer Mike Dean’s sinister synths, emphasized the festival’s need for a hero. And comic book animations projected on either side of the stage illustrate that there’s only one man for the job.

Dressed in a custom black chrome Hearts suit, a hooded Metro Boomin emerged from beneath the stage, his purple cross-embroidered cape fluttering in the desert wind. But regardless of the Academy Award-winning actor’s impressive introduction, the usually soft-spoken producer’s booming voice surprised festival-goers — and one of his many guest artists — as he greeted the crowd.

„When we finished, Future said to me, 'Bro, I don’t know who the f–k is talking!’ ” recalls Metro. “’I didn’t know you could do that! You stay in a room and be quiet. „
